APDWF-JGHF TRAVEL GRANTS

Travel Grants shall be offered to clinicians and scientists in the early stage of their career (up to 5 years following the completion of training in gastroenterology/ hepatology) to broaden their education and experiences in the field of gastroenterology/hepatology.

YOUNG INVESTIGATOR AWARDS

The purpose of the Young Investigator Award (YIA) is to stimulate interest in research training by rewarding outstanding examples of excellence amongst those involved in research training of his/her career. 

Application Requirements:

  • Applicants must be from nationalities of Asia Pacific countries.
  • The applicant must submit the training certification and curriculum vitae when submitting the online abstract. 
  • Applicant must be the first author of the abstract and a registered participant of the congress.
  • The shortlisted oral abstract must be presented by the applicant during the meeting.

Selection Process:

  • Applicant should select ‘YIA Application’ during submission of abstract for oral presentation. 
  • Shortlisted abstracts are based on scores assigned by the Abstract Selection Committee and all successful applicants will be notified.
  • The Abstract Selection Committee’s decision is final.

Simulation Based Mastery Learning Endoscopy Workshop on Expert Performance

Experience a unique learning approach in the first APDW  simulation-based mastery learning hands-on course. Here, you'll not just update your endoscopy knowledge and techniques, but also deliberately practice them towards competency using the principles of the science of education and expertise. This day-long immersive course offers learners the opportunity to master the steps experts use to distinguish themselves to have superior and consistent outcomes. Using cutting-edge evidence-based education techniques, we  also aim to develop participants’ beliefs that they can apply the skills. 

 

Choose 1 Track For Full-day Workshop (Track 1 - 4) or the combination of ERCP and EUS Tracks (Track 5a - 8a)

  1. Track 1 (Full-day Workshop)
    Upper GI endoscopy focusing on hemostasis and variceal band ligation
    Scope of the track:
    - Handling and managing GI bleeding (variceal and non-variceal)
    - Hemoclip, electric cautery, variceal band ligation, cap, guillotine, argon plasma coagulation
  2. Track 2 (Full-day Workshop)
    Lower GI endoscopy/colonoscopy, focusing on resection techniques 
    Scope of the track:
    - Handling, management of loop, cold snare polypectomy, hot snare polypectomy, EMR and clipping, tattooing
  3. Track 3 (Full-day Workshop)
    Nutritional access, focusing on PEG, NGT, NJFT 
    Scope of the track:
    -      Pull and push PEG
    -      Endoscopic guided for NGT and NJFT placement
  4. Track 4 (Full-day Workshop)
    Bariatric endoscopy
    Scope of the track:
    - Intragastric balloon placement
    - Endoscopic sleeve gastroplasty

  1. Track 5 (Half-day Workshop)
    Basic ERCP
    Scope of the track: Effective cannulation to metal stenting
  2. Track 6 (Half-day Workshop)
    Advanced ERCP
    Scope of the track: Cholangioscopy

    Scope of the track: Anatomy overview, FNA, and pseudocyst drainage
  4. Track 8 (Half-day Workshop)
